Eivind Lysheim joins the company as System Engineer after delivering his master thesis in June 2021. He holds a M.Sc. in Applied Physics with specialization within biophysics and medical technology from the Norwegian University of Technology (NTNU). Prior to joining Kongsberg Beam Technology Eivind has worked part-time at the company for the last year during his studies.
Why did you join Kongsberg Beam Technology?
“ My upper secondary school had a partnership with Oslo Cancer Cluster and OUS/Radiumhospitalet, which allowed me and some other students to follow the staff at the Institute for cancer research at OUS in their work. The experience here is the reason why I chose this as my degree. I’m very interested in applying physics in medicine, especially using radiation therapy to treat cancer. Kongsberg Beam Technology has a very interesting on-going project to create a state-of-the-art system, which seeks to optimize proton radiation treatment. Naturally this was of great interest. I also really enjoyed working with the team last summer and I know that they are the right people, with their expertise to develop MaMa-K”, says Eivind Lysheim.
“Eivind’s specialization in medical technology and background within medical imaging and radiation treatment is of great interest for Kongsberg Beam Technology. He will be working on the MaMa-K project bringing lots of expertise to the project“ says, CEO Kerstin Jakobsson. Eivind joined Kongsberg Beam Technology, full-time in August 2021.
